NOW BOOKING VISITS FOR THE 2023-24 SCHOOL YEAR!

My NEXT BOOK PUBLISHES IN 2025

If you want to learn when it’s coming out, what it’s about, and when I’ll be visiting your area: sign up for my mailing list! I mostly use it to share what I’ve been thinking about lately (from tips for finding four-leaf clovers to thoughts about perfectionism, teaching and more!).

Questions?

Visiting schools and talking with young readers is one of my favorite things to do – and I always leave time for a Q&A.

Here are the answers to some of the questions I get most (from students… and from teachers and librarians!).

Is Nick Courage your real name?

The first three questions I always get during school visits are: 1) Is Nick Courage your real name?; 2) Really?; and 3) Can we see some ID?

So these days I start off all of my presentations with a big slide of my driver’s license (and I guess technically my full name is Nicholas Stephen Courage!).

Will you come to my school?

Visiting schools and getting kids (and teachers!) excited about writing is one of my very favorite things to do.

During the school year, I try to limit school visits to one per week so I can hit my writing deadlines and keep up with Courage Literary – unless I’m traveling to a school in another city, in which case I’ll do more – so these slots can fill up fast…

But if a teacher or librarian reaches out to book a school visit, I always try my best to make it happen!

What do I need to do to make that happen?

The most successful school visits always take a little planning and it can be hard to know what to expect after a couple of years of virtual visits, so I’ve included everything you need to know about bringing me to your school right here on my “Visits” page.

I work closely with school librarians and teachers to craft the most impactful day possible for your school – from workshops to auditorium presentations and 1:1 time with students.

I know budget can be tricky for a lot of schools, but these days are always really special and inspirational… and if I can make a visit work within your budget: I will!

What’s your favorite book?

I think Snarkout Boys and the Avocado of Death by Daniel Pinkwater is truly – without exaggeration – the Great American Novel.

Have fun, Read Books!

I HOPE YOUR DAY IS FULL OF ADVENTURES, BIG AND SMALL – IN THE PAGES OF A BOOK AND OUTSIDE IN THE REAL WORLD. YOU’RE NEVER TOO YOUNG OR TOO OLD TO HAVE AN ADVENTURE (OR TO READ A BOOK, JUST FOR FUN)!
